Latest News

20th Feb. 2011 - We are delighted to announce that the Shetland Moving Image Archive's application for charitable status was successful (Scottish Charity Number SCO 42107).

On the back of that good news, we are launching our fund-raising campaign!

Funding will allow us to take the project from the drawing board and into reality – some of the things we need to do include:

  • Develop the full project plan
  • Specify the equipment and premises needed to digitise and store the films
  • Establish procedures to collect the films and make them available to the public

The project has attracted around £57,000 from funding organisations – but before the project can access this funding, we need to raise some cash of our own.

The group must raise around £3,000 over the next three months. We’re asking for a small donation from you to help us access the funding needed to take the project forward. Your £1 = ££££££s!
